                     Projects

Since 2007 we have built 32.0 miles of new trail, re-route/enhanced
13.5 of old trail, we maintain 48 miles of trail annually
and have contributed over 13,474 volunteer hours
worth $451K to trail work, trail maintenance, 
and community clean-up.

Volunteer Hours: (1400 hr/2017, 1200 hr/2018,
1450 
hr 2019, 450 hr/2020, 800 hr/2021, 906 hr/2021,
1120hr/2022, 1400/2023, 1974/2024).

Since 2007 BLTS has been awarded 12 Federal RTP Grants 
totaling $661,265 and have completed 9 and have 3 in process.

                                               Current Projects
  • 2024 Stared 12.9 miles of the NE Peavine Trails Project
  • 2025 Built new K Point/Red Line Trail in Galena Creek Park
  • 2025 Re-route middle section of Stagecoach Trail on Peavine
  • 2025 Re-built the unsanctioned Hoge Knob Jumps to the USFS approved Hopper Trail on Peavine
  • 2024 Re-built the Reno Vista Trail into a beginner/Intermediate Flow Trail
  • ​Awarded 2024 RTP Grant for Peavine Trails Maintenance & Enhancements ($65K)
  • Awarded 2023 RTP Grant for Belli Front Trail System Phase 2 ($45K)  
  • Awarded two 2022 RTP Grants for Sierra Vista Park Phase 2 ($25K) and Tamarack Lake Trail Extension Planning ($50K).
  • Rebuild of UNR DH Trail into Advanced Flow Trail. Part of 2019 RTP Grant
  • Sierra Vista Pump Track Fundraiser - Completed built spring 2022 
  • 2020-21 Completed 2.6 miles of new trails connecting Reno Sierra Vista Park to the USFS Peavine Trails via Agreement with City of Reno
  • 2021-11 RTP NE Peavine Trail Planning - Trails flagged starting NEPA Studies
  • 2017-04 RTP Grant Peavine Trailhead Improvements for  9 Trailhead Signs and 2 Parking Lot Repairs. Completed at end of year 2021
  • 2019-16 RTP Grant Peavine-Trail Maintenance and Enhancements.
  • Sierra Vista Park Upgrades/Maintenance – New Drop Zone build spring 2021 via private fundraiser​
